benchmark tell half the story. get a Cpu benchmark written to target Intels Architecture and Holy shit they whip AMD's ass. now do the same for an amd Architecture. same result amd wins. people are and will always be biased. so will benchmarkers. all be it the data is good. just not Gospel. if you know what i mean?

Yes, I threw that up there more for the listing of cpu's and prices than the actual test.

Ahhhh. i was just voicing my educated(haha) opinion on the whole benchmark BS. so i still feel like AMD is the way to go. too bad too. AMD is Japan and Intel is American. would be nice to support our country a little bit. but wen the fuck you THAT bad for a CPU and the mobo's are $100 more. for a MINOR performance gain. if any? its tough to argue.

this is one conversation I try to avoid. It's like the mustang/camaro war or politics of the IT room, you can never win. Each one has it's advantages, it really comes down to personal preference.

I've built a bunch of systems now, and this is my view on it.

AMD cpu
NVidia gfx
Asus mobo

Intel cps are just bland to me, they run kinda hot, arnt crazy fast, but last forever and can be abused. Id need a HUGE cps cooler to OC my current intel setup, i bsod this thing all the time from over heating while gaming. Still works tho, I cooked an old amd cpu(not the one i was ocing to 3.9) from doing that one to many times. lol

My AMD I could OC to hell. It was set around 3.9ghz lol

The only difference between this system and my last is diferent mobo and cpu, they are both around the same specs and the AMD was hands down better. I had more control in the bios, ran cooler, better performance.

yeah thats what ive always seen. maybe more threw put threw the intel but at what cost? you need a 50w+ air cooler or water cooler just to keep em around 125* ive found?

have you looked into the new unlocked FX series from AMD? im thinking about going middle road with them. getting the ASUS M5A99X mobo with the AMD FX 6100 six core cpu. and a middle of the road radeon hd 9750.

Honestly, I use 32bit everything, more then 2 cores is almost useless for me. Id prefer to spend the extra money from the cpu in the gfx department for my self, games are far more gfx oriented now, well most games lol

Once windows proves they are gonna keep the same operation system for more then a couple year public beta (vista), ill switch. lol

I think my next rig is gonna be the
$100~ AMD Phenom II X2 565 Callisto 3.4GHz
$500~EVGA GeForce GTX 580
with water cooling OCed to over 4ghz, 4gig of ram, 1000w modular psu, 160gig SSD and then a 500g-1T HDD
