99% sure the stock intake is sealed off from the engine bay at least as well as any of the CAI intakes you can get. If there isn't a baffle or a flow restriction in your way I'd just leave it alone

So just because the air box has a shield that blocks it from engine temp air... means its just as good as a non restrictive boxless intake setup?

http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GT3013/GTSRCH....html?a_aid=sz

Granted there numbers are bull shit. but if the stock setup was so good? why do people A: make them and B: make better times with an aftermarket one?

Just sayin

I want to get one anyway, get that sweet groan when it's sucking in air, but the stock manifold and MAF are good ? I shouldn't just get an 85mm Z06 MAF since I Lready have an ls6 manifold and ls6 heads ? Makes sense to me..

Just gotta figure out which CAI is the best, heard the k&n makes the MAF and IAT read wrong ?

Over oiled filter causes your maf and iat issues. run an un oiled or LIGHTLY oiled filter if need be. i just cleaned mine and didnt reoil it. ill get a paper filter next time its dirty. Anyway. the kit i showed you, you can use a filter "bag" cover and run real light oil and no dirt will pass the filter and its ALOT better then the TINY 04 GTO air filters
