yeah the venting really isnt a gimmick. after going threw 3 non vented i switch and had No issues after. i tried using a vented opti front cover/cap and rotor on a non vented opti. worked a little better.

I'm a firm believer in the benefits of venting too. I'm on my original opti with 99K miles and no issues (knock on wood).

Ahhh shit! I already ordered the msd cap and rotor, supposed to be here tomorrow. I appreciate the offer though! What do you have to do to convert? just get the vented cap, and run the vacuum lines? It would definitely be a good idea, but my opti seems pretty clean.

Im pretty sure the original owner of my car told me he went through a few optis when he had it. The one in there has lasted me since 2008. So I cant complain.

I had 175k on mine before I replaced the cap and rotor trying to find a miss and they prob could have gone another 75k before really needing to be replaced, still has the oem opti in it. The miss was a burnt plug wire I didn't find till i had all the wires in my hand and found a brittle spot when I was bending the wires.

Still have my old 95 cap out in the garage. I think I'm gonna make a clock out of it lol.
