Ram air screens
Has anyone removed their ram air screens? Is it even possible? Thanks.
Me thinks if I could, it would increase airflow a bit ? |

Mine come out but I will bet money you will not see any gains.

Mystery bird do you have a 93-97 or 98-02? I looked really thoroughly at my 95 and I can't for the life of me see how they come out with a dremel/whiz wheel

Im guessing you have an aftermarket hood? The "ram aur" effect only does anything at maybe 50mph+. Increasing hood air flow will net zero gains and then you lose the screens to keep out the debris.

On my 95 it is converted to 98-02. I'll have to check my 93 Formula to see if those screens are removable.

Well since the first ws6 was in 96 its not a factory ws6. Now the hood does look of good quality. But not a gm/slp hood. Only "ram air" cars from factory were firehawks. And the hood is different. It has a rounded raised front section under the front snorkles.

On my 93, which is an aftermarket hood, the screens just pop out with some clips.
