Default Anyone familiar with HIDs?

I would like to put HID headlights in my car and I've been doing some research. I know that I need bulbs, ballasts and new housings made to work with HID bulbs. I found a couple of kits on eBay:

Firebird HID kit 1

Firebird HID kit 2

Anyone know anything about these? Do these do high and low beams? Are they legal?

I don't know much about them but technically with the new inspection system you are not legally able to install HID's in any car that did not come from the factory with them. You can get a ticket for having them in your vehicle. Just my .02!

i have HIDs in my dd and i know a few people with them and have installed quite a few sets..and i have come to find that once they are on they dont differ much from company to company...what i have found with many companys is getting both head lights to Come on and stay on (one will flicker out and you will have to turn them on and off a couple times) can be a pain in the ass some times..i know your looking for he housings as well but for the HIDs themselves ....the place i have had the best luck with is www.intensehid.com ...free shipping and a warranty ...i know there are other places out there that will have good quality stuff just throwing my own opion out there.
i know 941LE has HIDs in his car im sure he will have some input

It doesn't mean your going to get pulled over, just that the chance is there.

Now as far as HID's go ron is correct BUT the bigger issue with HID's wen gettin inspected is our cars have one bulb for high and low beam. your camaro has to. So you still get that switching while being inspected. both of those sets that you posted will not run high and low beam they will just stay on solid no matter what your dash sez. to do it right you need to get a good set of housings that are 4x6 and an expensive set of HID's. last ones i saw that were really good and did high and low beams were $150. and they worked OK as far as the high low function. im just gunna forgo all of that BS and get the headlight conversion kit for $1000 if i keep this LT1 chassis.

I'm not worried about that because I plan to run 4300K bulbs so it won't look blue and draw attention.

Where did you see the kit that had the high/low beam function? That is what I want, I want it to work like stock while being brighter.

i forgot that your car only has the one headlight i havnt done any of those but from people i have talked to say that to get a Decent set of the "Bi-Xenon" HIDs your going to spend like $150 like pizza said and you deff want to get top of the line housings i have seen people put them in cheap ones that say they are HID safe and end up melting parts of the housing...not entirely sure how but idk

I know you do inspections, but the law states:
"Any aftermarket lighting that is not SAE or DOT approved shall be removed."
Those 3 little letters are the key.
