trying to convince him to go fast or accel dfi standalone/piggyback actually.

drivabilty alone on my car was worth the swap. let alone the peak hp gains too.

Piggybacking sucks.

You don't have to convince shit for me to go with F.A.S.T., I know it's the best fucking option. When we talked yesterday, doing the PCM swap OBD I seemed like a viable option which would save me $3k, so I was looking in to that angle. Hell, I was always working the F.A.S.T angle before we talked. I already have the price on the unit for my application and the phone number of an installer in Agawam.

I talk to Boston Dyno today. This is what he said:

1. Take out the FMU. He said they suck and fail.
2. He can install an e-manage piggyback system. Anyone ever hear of it?
3. He did an OBD-1 tune by e-mailing data logs to a guy in CT. He told me if this dude in CT has SW for the 7727 PCM, I do the OBD-I swap and he can mail him the data logs.

What do you guys think?

--------------
update
talked to the F.A.S.T installer in Agawam. car picked up, F.A.S.T installed, and car tuned for ~4K (worst case. could be cheaper depending on the amount of custom wiring needed).

do the Fast. better drivablity. and using a 7727 2.8 computer..... drivability for what you have will probably suck and it wont make the power the fast will. id spend my money once.

if it were me I would contact pcm4less or madz28 and then bring the car to them. next option would be the f.a.s.t. setup or try to make a megasquirt setup. but to me the obd1 with a dyno and street tune would be my first shot before a f.a.s.t but I guess it all depends on how much power you will make in the end.

i dont really know if power is the complete answer. drivabilty for me any way was HUGE. and its VASTLY improved over the older ECM wich is similar to the ECM in his car. hes also going to run FI. going lean under 6 psi or boost in a Killer V6 will hurt it. if not grenade a piston. and the Ecm he has access too i dunno i havent read anywere that its been spot on reliable or that the drivability was Outstanding like the F.A.S.T. will be. But its not my bank account either.

i spent over 1200 bux not including the Tune for my PCM swap. it was the best mod ive done to my car yet!!
