Default Broke Key for lock lugnuts

So did my outer tie rod finally took about 20 minutes and I'm all happy with myself put my tire back on torque on the locking lug nut and the damn key breaks into 3 peices lol. Anyone know the best route to get a new one. Did a quick search online but didn't find what i was looking for and gotta get an alignment before work fml. Thinking I should get a whole new set of lug nuts anyways. thinking black gloss ones to match the ZR1 rims. Any info is appreciated, Maybe if there universal I can buy new ones and someone can stop by my house and take mine off lol.

To get the locking lugnut off just take a smaller socket and hammer it on and break it free. Then go buy a set of new locks.

Yeah I read about that but didn't wanna ruin a socket lol. Probably will though. Got my alignment done now my rear exhaust is banging like crazy on something... maybe a clamp came loose or just gotta let my springs settle... lol.

Yup, bang a socket on there that's just a bit smaller than the actual lug and gonna need to buy a new set. That's bout the easiest way I know how to do it unfortunately.

Use a cheap craftsman socket then when u get it off hammer it out of the socket through the hole in the back and take the socket and get it exchanged say it cracked or is worn out and rounding off all the nuts u try and remove with it. And then u will have a free new socket and ur lug nuts will be ok.

Well I have a lot of Kobalt tools and they have lifetime replacement so I'll be doing that as soon as I pick up a new set of lugs sometime soon.

advance has sets on sale like once a week! and what brand was it? stock? if they were Gorilla brand then all the tooling is the same. bye a new set of the same type. and the tool will fit them both.

They actually make tools for this. Don't ruin a socket:

There are cheaper brands, but I used these when I lost my key and was a breeze. Plus you'll always have some nice stripped bolt extractors. I've used them on my friends cars that don't know how to not strip bolts.

Hmm I have bolt extractors already and didn't even think to use them on there. I like to over complicate things lol. Those things have come in handy so many times... damn rust lol. Thanks for the replies everyone.
