Default Undamagable front air dam...

I'm making one, out of an airdam from the junkyard and bolting it to the lower radiator support with a hinge so it can bend back and forth, with 2 springs from home depot at each end keeping tension to pull it forward. So when i hit the bottom of my dads driveway from now on it just folds back and then goes back. I cant take the sounds of scraping anymore!

Those things are annoying. Make sure the springs are stiff enough that it won't bend back at highway speed and take away some of the airflow across the radiator.

Yeah alex hit the nail on the head. because you have no real grill in your car to get airflow across your radiator thats the air dams job and if it folds back at say 45+ or so you might as well just take it off.

Yeah I already thought about that... This thing is gonna be designed good... It wont move at 100+mph wind force but when the fatass car pushes itself into the ground and that it the initial point of contact that thing will bend back.

learn how to drive in and out of the driveway dummy....

but yeah ^^^ needs a lot of tension which means it may not bend like you want it to.

I dont know my ass from my elbow about f-bodies but I doubt airflow across the radiator will be an issue at highway speed everytime I've ever heard of a car overheating it was running at slow speeds or stopped. like crawling through traffic or something.

Only other times would be like intense racing situations but.. I dont think anyone here is doing 24 hours of lemans or something

IROC Boy is correct. if you dont have an air dam the car at highway speeds it will warm up. because there is no grill to speak of in these F-Buckets. so air flow is always an issue. he needs to keep it the same size and shape for it to work properly as well. i just say stop hitting shit and youll be fine IE learn how to drive........ hahaha
