there are a lot of tables the 98 pcm does not have so for mild mods its fine. but anything for a cam, stall, trans tuning, power adders. the 98 comp is just not going to perform.

Most of the hurt motors I have is 98's. Rods,bearing failures. Some do last though.

Depends on power you want and how you drive.
Sometimes it's cheaper to sell the car and buy one already built if you have high goals.
