Yeah i know but i really hate using them Last time i rented one it broke off and they made me pay for it. I was using it correctly and it just failed. Screw them

Koni's s are a little out of my budget right now. I like the edelbrock coilover setup but it doesnt drop the height in the front. It just drops it in the back an inch and a half. Not sure how that setup would look. It does make it a hell alot easier since the front springs are already on though.

Basically the Edelbrock setup is around $800.00 with all springs and shocks included.

If i went Strano springs and Bilstein shocks i'd be looking at around $650-700.00 and i would need to rent a spring compressor to do it. Decisions decisions

The front ride height is adjustable on the edelbrocks, there is a an adjustment on the outside of the shock that compresses the spring to whatever height you so desire

I called strano and asked a few questions and he basically told me the best combo to get was his springs with the koni's and i dont have the budget right now to be dropping that much. Idk i'll see what happens

Lol Sam practically won't let you buy anything but Koni's. I got them for my car with stock springs, they work good but honestly I don't think they're worth as much as they cost. I did get them on sale though.

Yeah i know. I told him a couple different setups i was looking at. I said i was looking to do his strano springs with bilstein shocks or an entire edelbrock setup. I know i dont know the most about this stuff. He did tell me pretty bluntly that koni's would work best with his springs. I think he actually sighed. lol

Also i forgot to mention before i have no bump stops either bc they were cut off. I didnt even think of this and im not sure if they would be a problem since i would end up getting stiffer springs even though i am lowering it. If so then oh well maybe ill just replace the worn rear shocks then.

Strano designs his stuff to work the way he want's. By mixing parts it screws up the result. Thats probly why he sighed. I go it everyday on calls.

Well for right now i just need rear shocks, maybe in the future ill get some springs and some front shocks. Wasnt expecting the price to be that high for the koni's. So i think i will just go with the Edelbrock Ias shock for now.

I think what you want is SLP spec Bilstiens and a good lowering spring if you are looking to save money. I've heard the Bilstiens work well with lowering springs for many miles but eventully wear a bit and can't dampen the springs as well. So they won't give you the ideal roll control possibly but will work fine for street driving. Bilstien shock quality is second to none. They are pretty cheap too.. around 350 or something for a set of four maybe??

Eibach springs seem to have sagging issues and are inconsistent with ride heights. I'd also personally avoid Hotchkis the way they are wound.. look like they would go coil bound before you hit your bumpstop. I have strano springs and think they ride really comfortably with my konis set correctly. Better than lots of cars on stock suspension in my opinion. BMR pretty much copied Strano's spring specs.. so you have that option too. If in stock, you'll get the Strano springs real quick in New England. His shipments are fast. I always go with Strano if I can. It helps that he knows me and I can email him whenever I need advice about almost anything car related.

I would go with front bilstiens too if you plan to swap springs. Expect your front shock top nut to be rusted stuck and have to be cut off. Next time if I need a spring compressor I'm bringing the coilover assembly to a shop and have them do the swap quick.. I've heard it's not expensive. Fighting with compressors sucks.

Agreed on bringing the whole strut assembly to a shop, whatever they charge you to swap the spring over is money well spent to not have to fight with the spring compressor. If I have to do anything to my front shocks again that's what I will do.

Well i already ordered the Edelbrock performer Ias rear shocks. If i dont like them i will switch to the bilsteins. I did mention to strano that i wanted to go with bilsteins and use his springs and he said it wont perform as well as the koni's but im not looking to shell out a thousand bucks on that.

If i like the edelbrocks im gonna go with what Batman mentioned and use the coilover system thats in the picture so i dont have to fight with a spring compressor. Couldnt really find any reviews on them except for a couple mentions on ls1tech. But those are gonna have to wait until i get my taxes back.

Ive brought a front spring assembly to a garage and they did both sides for like 25 bucks. No hassles.
