Fluctuating vacuum is typically a small leak or a valve problem. Do yourself a favor and run a locked out distributor.

What was your old intake? For sale?

Very nice I like it. That will probably give you a little more top end if its taller than the one you have now.

gunna lose some low end with that intake and bring the power band out a few 100. if thats your goal?

Youll gain greatly over the JR. Was yours ported?

The locked out timing will feel so much better. I took. Old HEI and welded it.. 34* feels GREAT

DAWG 04-07-2012 06:30 PM

yeah the JR was ported and the only difference between the jr and the super victor is the jr isnt as high but still had same dimensions.
you can add spacers to a JR for tuning. I had 2" spacer on mine so a super victor will work great!
btw my ports are 2.21X1.31

DAWG 04-15-2012 12:25 PM

well I pulled the intake yesterday to discover that the gasket between the #1 and #3 ports was crushed and torn between the two ports.
also looked like oill was seeping up from bottom of gasket into the ports of the heads.
this will explain my miss/ pinging under load and sooty plugs I HOPE!!!!

c4boom 04-15-2012 01:25 PM

ya one oil contamination kills octain two if air was getting in it will run lean and three it can also part foul the plugs and make it run like shit so i would bet that that is your issue. what do you run for fuel on the street and whats the compression, and cam specs.
