lol how many times has someone made this argument before. Hell a stock LS1 (would be the ZR1) would get destroyed against a Turboed 3.8 4th gen (c6 vette). Cost less and faster. Everyone knows that. But you wanna compair stock for stock the more expensive once 9 outta 10 will come out on top. Any other prehistoric arguments you wanna bring up and beat to death?

Just making a point of saying the bottom of the line and the top of the line Vette look way too closely related to have such a large price gap. I know I'm dating myself but just as when Elton John rewrote "candle in the wind" for Princess Diana, it deserved a clean sheet of paper. So did the ZR1. Ford top performer, GT does not have a tamer little twin brother, nor does the Acura NSX, Lexus LFA, Audi R10, Dodge has the Viper, Lamborghini has the Marcelargo, Ferrari has the F40/F50 and the Enzo, even Porsche has the Carara GT. I could give more examples. Comparing an LS1 with a C6 is not Apples to Apples the body styles are different and both engines were not in production at the same time. The ZR1 should have been something very different than anything else in the line up with a very limited production to help keep the values high. One of the posters on this thread said he knows a dealership with 6 of them, not a way to drive demand, pumping them out as fast as they can be made. I am far from a Ford guy and I do not overly like it's styling but the GT was a perfect way to pull off a limited production domestic supercar.
Now I'm off to go walk my Brontosaurus.
