Hope you have the 5/6 gear puller or want to make one :p

94Z28rag 05-09-2010 01:56 AM

The "usual" rebuilds are right on their website. I'm having a few little tricks added but nothing out of the ordinary. They are very reasonably priced and well respected. Should be perfect until the existing clutch lets go :)

making my own clutch basket tools for an auto wasnt too difficult SURE i can figure it out big guy!

Batman 05-09-2010 12:26 PM

lol, have fun. Entirely possible but it needs to be about 3 feet long and strong if you want to re-use it. I have faith in you

TBerry95z28 05-11-2010 05:10 PM

i want to see beastly vert

94Z28rag 05-12-2010 04:43 AM

UPDATE:
The car is finally at my fabricator and when I get home the 17th of June the car will be newly outfitted with:

-A full cage (not just the 6-point),
-A Kirkey drivers seat and the stock passenger seat (replacing the Corbeau LG1s - will be FOR SALE shortly)
-Wolfe solid rear swaybar
-UMI SFCs
-UMI LCA relocation brackets

Me and Joe (RamAir95TA) will be tearing the engine/trans out, mocking up the line lock, ripping out the airbags, deleting the A/C, and painting the engine bay nice and purty green...getting excited.

The engine is sitting in my garage and waiting.............. I'll shoot some pics when I get down there.

nice!

CamaroRacing12 05-13-2010 12:06 AM

i hump ur build. one question. what intake setup will u be running?

94Z28rag 05-13-2010 02:24 AM

Custom in-front-of-the-radiator CAI setup, AS&M Billet Monoblade, LT1 manifold.

94Z28rag 05-15-2010 10:48 PM

Made a HUGE change in the direction of the build...decided to take a lot of the "uncertainty" out of the equation...will reveal more details once it arrives and I can take pics. :)

94Z28rag 05-24-2010 03:34 PM

Just ordered UMI's Stage 6 Front End Kit...officially 100% UMI suspension under the car. Front end will now have:

- UMI K-Member
- UMI Tubular Lower A-Arm Set
- UMI Tubular Adjustable Upper A-Arm Set
- QA1-R Adjustable Front Shocks
- QA1 275 lb. Front Springs
- Thrust Bearing Kit

I'll have some pictures up with the engine in the K-member in a few weeks!

94Z28rag 05-27-2010 04:23 PM

Bryan Herter from PCMforless will be coming out to Philly and doing the full dyno tune "hopefully" in August...regardless, it will be as soon as the car goes on the road.

Decided to go with a set of Racetronix 63# flow-matched injectors to me wiggle room for future upgrades. ;)

ILuvPizzaTimes10 05-27-2010 04:44 PM

60# jesus Christ..... im running 42s and they are too much. haha cant wait to see this pig DONE!!!!

94Z28rag 05-27-2010 04:50 PM

The car is being built to SFI spec for 9.00-9.99 ETs and we will push that envelope once we get the setup down.

42#ers would be maxed for my setup N/A based on our calcs with no room to grow.

94Z28rag 05-27-2010 05:31 PM

Car on my lift just before it was driven to the fabricators for the cage:

TBerry95z28 06-08-2010 04:53 PM

94Z28rag 06-08-2010 04:55 PM

Smarter way to build this car. It won't let you down, no worries.

JoeyxGx2 06-09-2010 04:11 PM

this thing is going to be amazzinngggg

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-09-2010 04:16 PM

Yeah if he ever gets the fucking thing DONE!!!! COME ON!!!!!!!!

94Z28rag 06-09-2010 04:36 PM

Precision doesn't come from building a car overnight, assmunch.

JoeyxGx2 06-09-2010 05:33 PM

it WOULD have been if it HAD LSX in the title and not 396 L-Turd 1 AHHHAHAHAHA:sFun_crazydance:

94Z28rag 06-09-2010 06:01 PM

I'll let the results speak for themselves. You can do wonders with "old technology" if it's done right.

I stuck with the LT1 for the looks on all of those LSX guys' faces---> :sign0165:

94Z28rag 06-11-2010 12:34 PM

As much as I love the LT1 vs LS1 argument, Let's make a new thread for this you bums. I'm trying to document a build here!!

Updates will come NEXT WEEKEND. I will be flying into Philly next Thursday night the 17th at about 9pm and working on the car well into the night and all of Friday and Saturday.

KLAB 06-11-2010 01:05 PM

Nice man night work is fun except for when your neighbor walks over and says "seriously, your using the air tools at 1130? shut the fuck up!" as for the lt1 ls1 thing ill say what i always say im not trying to prove anything if i had enough money to throw away on an lsx swap i sure would but LOL to the ls1 owners paying over double what i paid for my car and only advantage is a few more ponies and different system, and also having to pass emissions. be jealousssss!!!!

94Z28rag 06-11-2010 01:17 PM

Luckily I am able to use air tools all night and no one will hear :) LT1 FTW

Formula413 06-11-2010 08:14 PM

Thread cleaned up AGAIN, keep it on topic please

94Z28rag 06-15-2010 12:59 PM

94Z28rag 06-17-2010 05:43 PM

Another teaser...flying out tonight! Will be pulling the engine/trans beginning @ around 11pm until we're DONE!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...8rag/photo.jpg

94Z28rag 06-21-2010 01:13 PM

Reserved for lots of pics...will host/post tonight after work.

Couple footnotes: decided to ditch the HVAC all together, cruise control gone, ABS gone, battery being relocated to the trunk, and have decided to go with a manual steering rack - that stopped us a little short of where we wanted to get but all in all a very successful weekend!

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-21-2010 04:27 PM

your taking WAY too much time!!! for christ sakes. pull some all nighters like i did GET R DONE!!!

94Z28rag 06-21-2010 06:10 PM

Probably won't be done until over the winter. I won't be able to get back down there until August and there's a good chance I'll be moving back down there by this winter so it may never make it up to NH. Time will tell.

Either way, the funds can only be spent so fast, I can't just throw $5k a month at this thing and get it done quickly...ass. Getting new ball joints for the front end and 100% all new OEM hoses and most sensors for the new motor. I also just sent the intake manifold out to get powder-coated. THE STEERING RACK ALONE IS $700. IT TAKES TIME.

Sheesh. I'll deal with you Sunday.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-21-2010 08:07 PM

AHHHAHAHAHAHAHA love you too!!

and another reason i dont have a manual rack. aside from they SUCK!
