it begins!!!

for my brother.

98' Formy M6. bone stock with a little over 100k on the clock.

finally sold his truck and now time to start the fun!!!

so far he's going to wait on anything more than a catback until the clutch gets taken care of.

but first mod ordered yesturday and arrived today

we'll get this done this week (should make him happier)

bottledbird68 09-18-2010 08:39 PM

Looks nice. I like the hooker catback sound too. Got one on my 87.

I keep fighting the urge to pick up an ls1 ta.

We need another hot rod like we need a hole in the head lol

DemonWithin99 09-19-2010 01:32 AM

I have the same exhaust on my car and I heart my hooker...

Formula413 09-19-2010 02:50 AM

Aerochambers sound great. I'd get a nice set of wheels for that car too, it would make a world of difference.

Motaboata 09-19-2010 04:57 AM

nice! exhaust is def the 1st mod u should do on almost any muscle car

DemonWithin99 09-19-2010 03:21 PM

we're both looking into wheels and tossed on the $$ for them. we both like the same styles but I'm leaning toward chrome as he wants more painted or polished. but 1st things 1st, lets get this thing to make some noise!!!!

DemonWithin99 09-24-2010 05:06 PM

so he took the car in to have the master cyl. replaced (shop owed him) and after replacing it, it had no pressure.

so time to pull the clutch.
(not sure if it was ever replaced but from the looks of it I'd say no)

so they pulled it out an this is what they see.

thats a mouse nest wrapped around the springs.

car sat for close to 2yrs before he bought it, and has been driving it for a year. with a MOUSE NEST IN HIS CLUTCH...

I LMFAO when he sent me this.

Formula413 09-24-2010 06:19 PM

Wow, thats a new one

ls6monte 09-24-2010 07:04 PM

Definetly interesting! Any sign of the mouse corpse left in the clutch?????????? LOL

Slowhawk 09-24-2010 10:45 PM

A mouse couldn't get in there unless one of the plastic covers was missing.(unlikely) Thats probly the clutch itself.Happens when you smoke the clutch hard.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Seen similar stuff like that before.

DemonWithin99 09-25-2010 07:56 AM

figured it was mice. car had a few other mouse homes in/around it, but thats something I didn't think of.

It is the stock clutch with 110k on it.

it's all together with the new one. we'll be throwing on the c/b tomorrow and I'll find out more about what the clutch was replaced with. they did us a favor and pulled off the stock catback. should make the morning a bit easier.

bottledbird68 09-25-2010 06:20 PM

Yeah, friend of mine had a mustang that the clutch came apart in. We thought it was a mouse nest at first too from the pieces we pulled out.
Then we pulled the tranny out and all the friction material was nonexistent from the clutch disk. He sheared off all the rivets that held it on and turned it into "mouse nest" lol.

DemonWithin99 09-25-2010 10:36 PM

missed him pulling up with no catback sounded sweet. but got it after the new one was on and then one of him leaving to get pick up some stuff...

I'm actually gonna be swapping my "axle back" from a Magnaflow to an Aero Chamber soon, I'm hoping it will give me the little bit meaner sound I want.
