Camaro Night - Marks Cruise Night - Aug 22nd

Mark it on your calenders. I spoke with the staff at the last cruise night and we managed to book a Camaro theme night. Monday August 22nd all Camaros will be able to park in the front section of the lot.

Spread the word, all generations are welcome. I had posted the info on necamaro-firebird.com, ctfba.com and camaro5.com for those that don't frequent those sites.

kaboom 08-22-2011 08:01 PM

DavidS 08-23-2011 12:42 AM

Had a great time at Mark's tonight. There was a real nice 69 COPO Camaro and two Z/28's that looked great.

Alex's is still talking about getting to sit in Jeff's Land Rover. I should have gotten a picture of him in it!

Eh! It's left hand drive! I have a customer with a 65 LR thats RH drive. Very weird shifting with your left hand! lol

Formula413 08-23-2011 12:49 AM

I shoulda come down, did you take any pics?

DavidS 08-23-2011 04:32 AM

I only got a few pics. Once a few drizzles started, a lot of cars started taking off and I didn't get as many pics as I wanted. It was packed there. I think the announcer said there was over 900 cars. Next week is rustang night, so there will probably be about 300 cars.

LS6Monte,

For some reason, I thought you worked at DMV. Do you also work at a restoration shop?

David

Didn't check out the interior. I checked out the windows sticker and all the docs he had on the plaque under the hood for a while.

The mold thing sounds gross.

the funny thing is there was 2 twins to mine there.
one was for sale 12,900 with 54,000 miles, that was my twin and there was another same as mine but was a hard top

Formula413 08-24-2011 11:45 PM

Ahhhhh yes, it was the hardtop I was thinking of. Guy had just bought it not that long ago from PA. Car is immaculate.

The Land Rover I mentioned came in for an inspection today. It's a 1969(not 65 as i thought) Land Rover Series 2a. It was originally in the British Army and the owner bought it from England. It's right hand drive and has a 2.2 4 cyl engine with only 85hp. Top speed is around 55 mph!

Cool Ron! I should send Jeff a link to the pic to make sure he sees it.

I am no Land Rover expert, but I think Jeff said that on his certain parts are easily detachable to reduce weight so that it could be air lifted out with no problems.

ls6monte 08-31-2011 12:41 AM

I think the gvw on this one is around 2500lbs! They don't weigh shit! lol

Interesting Land Rover. If it's an ex-military vehicle, then it appears to be missing the mil-spec lighting (very $$$ and difficult to get parts for), the rear crossmember of the chassis has been changed to a non-military version, and the tailgate doesn't have the military-spec brackets for the pick axe & shovel. Other than that, it looks like a tidy little Rover.

Believe it or not, unladen weight on that vehicle is about 2900 lbs. Curb weight (with fuel & driver) is around 3200 lbs and Gross weight is somewhere in the 4700 lb range (according to my factory manuals). My Lightweight is 3200 lbs unladen, and can be field-stripped down to 2650 lbs for air transport.

I restored this 1963 Land Rover back in the 90's. I sold it to fund the restoration of my Land Rover Air Portable (the one that David posted a pic of):

ls6monte 09-05-2011 02:40 PM

The owner bought it from the people who restored it so some stuff was probably changed.
