so you go. you pay 12 bux to get in after you paid 10 for parking. goto green hill shit hole. walk 3 miles round trip for nothing. leave. go downtown. pay another 10 bux to park. walk around see some nice cars. watch some street bike do some trick. go to sit down.... ohh wait you cant sit down!! you have to pay 10 more fucking dollars for a god damn seat. so then i say fuck you ill stand. well 3 hours after the burnout were supposed to start they do. it starts raining. what ever at that point the already sucked so me and sarah left. Almost 100 dollars spent not including fuel and the over all whole experience sucked. No one knew what the fuck they were doing and very dissorganized for how much room they really had and how many people they had "running" it. I will never go again. Ever. And now I know. Shit hole fucking fuckkkkkkk!!!

That is why you stay the fuck away from downtown and just stay in the park. I haven't bothered to go downtown in 4 years. It's a fucking joke there. I just stay in the park and hang out and watch the burnouts.

Yeah what killed it for me is the greed. The ticket was the end of bringing the car there but I would have still gone to hang out, except that every time you turn around someone wants $10.

since then attendance went down and the whole thing got so screwed up.
the park is the place to be though.

Went out to western mass spent alll day with my girl. did soo much got lunch, climbed a moutain (beautiful) drove around the backroads of western mass. cuddled on a blanket out in the middle of a random farm (fun and romantic), drove up to albany NY went to a wicked cool German pub called Wolffs Biergarten (i highly recommend it if ur eve rin albany) then went to see transformers 3 in Albany (good movie) I didnt get home till 4am and hey pizza i spent $100 too but including gas from Haverhill to albany and back and everything in between ;) i put 500 miles on my saturn yesterday. Best day I have had in awhile all with my girl :) by the time i drove through worcester it was 2am and too late to stop and visit joe. if it were me i'd just go down there and go to the bars and walka round. fuck paying for anything.

The only thing I dont like about it is all the shitboxes they let in, and then you have all these highschool punks walkin around runnin their mouths about other peoples cars that they have no clue about. Other than that, I had a fun time at green hill, but I did pay $8.50 for a sausage and peppers and a can of sprite! friggin ass-rape!

I've been going since 97 but this may be the last year I go out there. The show was not the greatest this year.
A bunch of my friends went to the GM Nationals in Carlisle and I may be going there instead of the summernats next year.

Had an awesome time as usual ill never understand why people bitch and moan about paying that's y its cheaper to bring ur car register it for the weekend and not have go worry about parking. U can't expect not to pay to do shit when u show up to an event like that..and u also don't go to the park at 4-5pm expecting to see a good show when everyones already downtown at that point. I've never not had a good time there...its all about the company u go with too.

Nationals are a shit show end of story.

I will agree that alot of the staff seems to be a bunch of morons.....I asked a staff member when the burnouts would start in the park (the schedule said 11). He says to me "Ummmmm theres no set time, the stunt bikes are going to start at 11 or 12, whenever you see cars lining up, head over" Then i thinkin WTF, these people are just runnin this by the seat of their pants?

thats what you get for not listening, i told you not to go to green hill park that late in the afternoon. i also told you to register your truck so you wouldnt have to find and pay for parking, registration comes with two wrist bands!

Yea, my buddy and I got there at 8, and we had no problem finding spots, and its not as crowded, once it reaches noon......forget about it.

I'm with this guy... Summer Nationals was a shitty trash fest.. Tell these people to save the 100$ and put it in the "replace missing teeth" and "birth control" funds..

Saturday at the park is a decent show.
Downtown is and has been for a while now, a total fuck show. I wouldn't bother with downtown if I didn't have the golden ticket to pretty much do whatever I wanted. They ruined it years ago down there.
Like Joe said though, if you had called back either one of us you would have had a much better time. It's all about the company you keep.

And to answer the question about the burnout schedule at the park basically they print the schedule and never tell the crew running it when to do them.
However all of us burnout staff up there are all volunteer so for the most part we do whatever we want. And most of the usual staff had a rough weekend and didn't really take over until sunday but that's another story lol.

I stayed clear of the nationals this year. My GF's house is right down the street in shrewsbury so we just cruised around running into a few nice cars.

someone has to pay his lawyer fees for stealing all those lobsters. Greed has definitely taken over the summer nationals.

you just got to know how to have fun at the nationals no matter who puts it on. how can you go wrong nice cars, good friends,a few beers,and a friendly atmosphere. i have a great time every year. downtown is definitely out of control, but rumor has it that he is trying to do away with downtown in the next couple years and just concentrate on the park, thats why he had the drive in movie and live bands at the park this year.Who cares about the lobster incident we all make mistakes and if any of us came across an opportunity to make money we would have done the same thing.

first off i wanted to See what i paid for the burnouts. were you guys were i wouldnt have been able too. what was the point of going all that way and paying for it all and not to see it. Sorry but it was a waste and then after the shit show that was the burnouts(not worth the wait or the money) i got fed up and went home. was honestly in such a bad mood i wouldn't have made good company.

The only cool thing I ever saw downtown was the flame thrower cars, those were pretty neat. Burnouts, eh, how many can you watch really?
