deaD....

brother txt me this morning... formy is dead .. again... :(

anyone got another motor? lol

or a cheap beater?

ZFreie 08-11-2012 02:17 PM

what the FUCK does he do to them....I DD my car 60+miles a day and see redline atleast a few times a day along with 3 or 4 k pulls every time I go from a stop...and my 170k mile engine is still mostly alright lol.

DemonWithin99 08-11-2012 02:48 PM

it's a 98'. bastard child...

fkn kills me to hear this again. kid scrounged up every penny he could for a year to get this thing back on the road, and for what 6months. I'd half a mind to take a bat to the knees of the fukhole who sold him the motor.

ZFreie 08-11-2012 02:58 PM

Cant get a 99+ motor? I dont know what the differences are between years

smokinss 08-11-2012 03:28 PM

Sorry to hear the news. Def get a 99+ plus motor. Hell a stock 6.0 goes for cheap and swap over the intake and other misc stuff.

c4boom 08-11-2012 05:03 PM

ya probably make almost the same power

ILuvPizzaTimes10 08-11-2012 05:22 PM

Hahaha I don't get it. Howwwwww. Id like to see if it failed the same way. Ie broken rod. If so its gotta be driver. Motor was silent on install? Oil changed? 6 speed? Missed a shift. That's all it takes.

Kalstar 08-11-2012 05:32 PM

I agree, screw the LS1 go for the 6.0. They are cheap and LS motors are like legos. Car-parts.com.......77K miles for $800 in PA. 11 pages of 6.0 engines. Swap over the Camaro parts and sell the LS1 as a rebuilder for $500.00. $300 well spent.

BigMac76 08-12-2012 12:50 AM

def give car-parts a look man. seen a ton of them in rhode island, a few in mass, nh and some in ct from anywhere between $500-$1650

hell, i might just snag one and hold onto it for a rainy day...got that sexy lingenfelter ls6 intake sitting around collecting dust hmmmmm

DemonWithin99 08-12-2012 05:55 AM

we will. he txt me this morning that it wouldn't start, so when i went there today it started right up. still sounds icky, after hearing it again, i feel it may be the top end.

941LE 08-12-2012 08:38 PM

i feel it might be in the drivers right hand and foot. I was behind him most of the quabin cruise. tried slamming second every shift. was only a matter of time

LSX-Nation 08-13-2012 12:48 AM

That would do it,

regardless that sucks about the motor again.

My84Z 08-13-2012 03:29 AM

If he missed a shift could just be a bent pushrod easy to pull them an check if u have a couple free hours

KLAB 08-13-2012 04:01 PM

He should get an LT1. Wind that baby to 300k wooooo

DemonWithin99 08-13-2012 04:27 PM

I wasn't behind him at all on that cruise, is that how he was shifting? If so, I think it'd be a better investment in advanced driving skills. And yes an lq9 will be the replacement of choice.

My84Z 08-13-2012 06:04 PM

Check the pushrods very cOmmon

941LE 08-13-2012 08:24 PM

Or maybe a auto sentra.
