RS Appearance Package
 

im hoping to get some body and paint work done on my car over the winter, one thing ive been really indicisive about is the RS appearance package. some times i like it but some times i think these cars look better without it. what do you guys think? the rear spoiler is staying no matter what.

Joe, if you feel like filling all the holes then by all means ditch it!

no he sed he wanted to delete the old thread. so i tried moving them BUT they were older then his newer threadended up being the top posts. i didnt want thatr and when i went to delete them it erased the entire thread!

i dont mind matt. it needs a new front bumper cover and a new rear bumper cover. i have an SS hood for the car so i was planning on painting the nose of the car all at once(hood, fenders, cover). with the rockers i could either tack the holes shut or use panel bond in case i decide to ever put them back on. but then again if i didnt close the holes up would they even be noticable? either way id spray the rockers to and fix the door jams since the paint is worn off from sagging door hinges.

Like I said before. I think they look awful lol

i really want the car to have more of a drag race look to it. the ground effects dont do it for me. eventually i want to get a set of weld RTS wheels and drag tires.

then i see a car like this and im confused again lol

Lose them. You're changing most of it anyhow so it'll be easy.
Your car is a bright color so I'd take the time to fill the holes in the rockers. If it was dark I'd say screw it but I think it'll be too noticeable not to.
Worst case pop them off and see how it looks from a distance. If you can live with it great.
The rear bumper on my Camaro was off an rs car and still has the holes but you don't see it cause it's black ;)

If you're that worried about keeping the holes so you can go back just paint a bunch of flat headed push clips orange and stick them in the holes lol.
Will look good enough until you're right up on it.

Its camera angle. From the side of the car they won't flow with that look.

I kind of like those kits, they're not too ricey and help keep the car from looking too bland. But with some nice wheels and keeping that spoiler you could pull it off without them. Without the GFX the hood may seem like overkill though, unless you were already thinking about changing that too?

yeah i have an SS hood for it, cant stand the hood thats on the car now. cant see driving and it doesnt flow with the body lines

Yeah I think it would look good as an SS without the body kit. I really like black wheels on a hugger car though, are you set on chrome?

i love the chrome slp ss wheels. i do want to get another set of wheels, im thinking these:

i think its hard to find a color other than black to accent these cars because the entire roof is black and on a 99 the mirrors are supposed to be black. but because of that black is almost to easy and over done.

other idea is to convert it to hardtop and paint the roof skin body color. not something you see very often. i would like to accent the car with white stripes and white leather.

That would look nice. Im just not a fan of the RS package. It looks better in darker colors but on a bright orange car like yours i dont like it.
