heheh. ive been trying to go for the last two weeks but we keep getting rained out on wednesdays. my buddy charlie has towed his trans am up twice only to have to turn around, sucks!

wensdays suck for me earliest i could be up here is like 7 or 8, id be down for a friday night tho

auto x is cool but we dont own auto x cars shit mine is almost 4k with stock front suspension and a rear locker throw that thing into a turn and you will see some cone carnage

joe LMK when your thinking! im finishing up the z shortly, its pretty much stock, had to do PS pump and alt this weekend, spent alot of my header y pipe money on that so it'll be mostly stock but ill still go and run! def want to do this!

I wanna drive someone stock suspension camaro, I forgot what they handle like from driving/racing mine with all the suspension stuff done.

I would still love to do auto cross.

I'm just messing with you because its silly to say auto x > track day. maybe for you personally its more fun but I've spectated an auto x event and it was pretty boring compared to going to the track. But we all have our preferences. I've never been auto crossing tho I'd like to try it, have you drag raced? My car is auto so I dont think it would be as fun.

i plan to build a 1987 porsche 944 w/ a cam only ls1 swap for auto x and cruising and will race at devens. my gf lives near downtown ayer.

I will be at NED this Friday night 5/24 and sat all day 5/25

mike at what power level do people usually start putting external waste gates on those cars

There's no need for one really if your staying with the stock turbo. IWG would be fine for that power level. I had one on my wrx cause I wanted the noise lol. The car will be getting a 44mm ewg once I get a Dom 3 or a FP green HTA.

Have you run this sti yet at the track? with or with out the launch controll and no lift shift?

Nope I got the car in December. No lift shift is alright but still think I can shift it fast without using it. Launch control is fun and have been practicing with it so I don't look like a complete jack ass up there. Builds around 9psi before launching.

Should make a huge difference being able to launch with 9psi, what should the car be able to run? I have no idea what youve done to it lol

It should be into the 12s don't know how far it'll dip but a safe bet is high 12s. When I get home from work ill make a thread with what's done to it blah blah blah.

yeah i didnt mean with the stock turbo, haha. i figured theres some drop ins that still have an internal gate but obviously after a certain power level turbo options with iwg are not going to be an option.

Maybe you could answer this, but wtf is up with that fluttery noise on STI's? Sounds like a flutter noise from the wastegate. I think it sounds weird but I notice its only Subaru's that sound like that...

the fluttering noise is surge. it will happen under load if the turbo is being pushed beyond its limits.

fluttering is also from a electronic boost controller. A manual boost controller doesnt have it.
