Value of LS1 Camaro private sale

Hi All,

Just wondering if you guys know what range of money people are selling/getting a 98-02 Camaro z28 for these days? It's just under 100k miles, M6, got a Slowhawk engine in it with 10k miles approx well taken care of, typical bolt-ons, and an autox/street friendly suspension setup. Good-fair condition. Has a few dings from the seekonk speedway. I see a lot of people posting their cars around 10k-20k on ls1tech. I find that hard to believe they would get that unless their cars are pristine condition.

I appreciate everyones input!

Not sure if you remember my SS with the blue flames or not. Anyway I just sold mine last year with a hefty amount of tranny, engine, rearend, and suspension work done for 13k. I was lucky to get that but like you said it was very clean inside and out. They buyer even bought it site unseen. Crazy but he got a nice car. I would say 7-8k is fair but then you find cars with forged engines and turbo setups going for 10k. Its a tough market. List it a little high and negociate to your price. Good luck.

I forget what exactly is inside my motor. I think its a stock block/crank with forged pistons/rods... it's been a while.

I could never convince my self to pay more then 3-4k for an lt1 and 7-8k for ls1 in mint shape.

Note I'm also a cheap ass lol

Id list it for 8k and go from there

F-Bodies unfortunately aren't worth much.

8-10k if you find someone who wants it modded your way. To sell quicker 7-8k

LSX-Nation 02-01-2014 02:23 PM

pics?

I will probably set it around the 7-8k range to sell quicker. I don't have any updated pics yet. If you want to see what it can do though, you can find a lot of clips of it on youtube of the seekonk speedway spectator drags.

I just sold it! I had it for 12 years. Mine went for 6300. Another seekonk driver bought it and will drive it in the spectator drags.

smokinss 03-09-2014 01:31 AM

Cool...

My84Z 03-09-2014 02:11 AM

6300! Yikes i'd rather let mine rot lol

BryanH 03-09-2014 02:32 AM

Stingray here I come!

My84Z 03-09-2014 02:50 AM

I would have kept the camaro to beat and use as a slave and the stingray to cruise and enjoy

pretty good price, the guy is gonna do spectator drags tho? jeeze haha.

I love that everyones getting stingrays, its dropping the value of other cars I want.

I did that John for several years. For the past 4 years or so, I've raced it maybe 3 times a year. I only did one autox in two years with it. Then I drive it to work like 3-4 times a year. So it was mostly for the spectator drags, and that's been losing its appeal to me. I just don't get the same excitement and rush with it that I did 10 years ago. So while it wasn't that much extra money, it still takes a bit of work that I don't have the passion for putting into it anymore. Plus I may be moving soon and don't want too much stuff tying me down.

Chris Gomes bought my car actually. He had the grey/primer paneled 2nd gen Camaro who's been racing even longer than I have. He sold that, so from now on he'll be racing my car in the drags.

camarokid91 03-10-2014 06:15 PM

That was a pretty good price. If you wanted a decked out F body now would be the time.

But the C7's are so nice. I would jump on one before the wife changes her mind.

BryanH 03-10-2014 06:49 PM

Yeah lol. She almost did. I told her it was a 2 seater and I think the first time she heard me she was thinking 2 door. She said she didn't know it didn't have a back seat, haha. No changing the deal now!
