So my temp gauge decided to stop working today.... Wonderng what the common causes for the are and how I can test the gauge and fix it without buying a new cluster... Thanks guys

probably the sender, on the side of the driver side head, up front, or a wire. were you working on anything?

is it pegged all the way out or is just reading zero? it will determin if its gauge wiring or sender. if it was wiring it would be pegged wide open. if it was the gauge. wen you cycled the key it wouldnt move. and if it was the sender it could really do both. what i do to check it is buy a new one. unplug the one off the car with it COLD! haha and plug the new one in with it sitting in a cup of hot water. turn the key on. if the gauge moves its the sender. if it doesnt the hunt begins. and if you do it that way you wont dump out your coolant and shit for a bad gauge.

LMK if you need a sender, as long as you don't have a 98 I can hook you up

Nah I wasn't working on it, just started it drove to work and it didn't move, it's reading zero.... Before this happened it barely ever read in the middle while the car was warm so I think it was starting to go and finally went... So I prob need a sensor....

Sender is easy and cheap IIRC. Mine actually somehow snapped at the plastic connection on the sender:confused5: But I remember it being like $10 for a new sender, and it's right there on the head, so 2 secs to get out and replace:nanawrench:
