MY 396ci LT1 TH400 build inside!

I've been all over the place with work and school, but I want to start to keep track of my winter build:

1994 Z28 convertible, T56 6-speed

This was my first car, I've had it for over 8 years now. It had 117k on it when I bought it, and it's at 160k now. I've been drag racing since I was 8 years old, and I've decided over the past year that this is the type of racing that I want to focus on in the future. I hope to see mid 10s at 130 MPH once we get it dialed in, powershifting 2nd gear in the air!

So here's where we are now:

Last year I did:
-Wolfe 6-point roll cage welded in
-Corbeau LG1 seats
-Impact 6-point harnesses
-Converted the interior from tan to black with new carpet
-New convertible top

Parts ordered/here to be installed at X-mas:
-Quick Performance 9" rear, 35 spline Moser axles with 4.56 gears and a spool
-UMI Chrome Moly Adj. Torque Arm
-UMI Double Adj. Rod-ended Panhard Bar
-UMI Double Adj. Rod-ended Lower Control Arms and relocation brackets
-UMI convertible subframe connectors
-Solid Wolfe drag race swaybar welded on
-Denny's Nitrous Ready 1000HP 3.5" Driveshaft

Now for everyone's favorite part, the engine:
-Gil Davis built 396ci LT1 stroker, roughly 12.5:1 compression
-Forged crank
-Forged H-beam rods
-Forged Diamond pistons
-Custom Advanced Induction top end

Couple of teaser pics:

LOL, if Pizza's car is any gauge that should get you into the 12.9 bracket (I'm just kidding! sweet ride!)

I think not, lol

looks good. Is that a Moser rear or a QP rear? Looks exactly like my QP 9in housing

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-03-2009 11:58 PM

Looks Good Man!!!! im right about there just need a better top end and it looks like you went with the best!!?? AI 200cc cnc'd GM castings? or did you go all out and get the TrickFlow 21* heads that just came out? Ohh and are you gunna paint that Quick Performance 9"?

Batman 12-04-2009 12:54 AM

Since there is a HUGE Moser sticker in the pic I am guessing it is a Moser, taht and it says "Moser 9" rear" in his post

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-04-2009 01:08 AM

No Jack ASS!!!! its a quick performance. with Moser Axles!!! same housing i have. moser doesnt have a rod end torque arm mount only QP does!! Wise Ass

Pizza is right, I mislabeled it. QP rear is far superior to the Moser. I'll edit my post when I get home. The axles are 35 spline Mosers.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-04-2009 02:54 AM

Hahaha told yah Bat Wings!!! dont worry i fixed it for yah already!! and i Agree the quick perfomance 9" is incredible!!! i couldnt believe the craftsmanship wen i got mine from Ebay. something like this deserves more credit then an Ebay rear end!!!

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-04-2009 02:55 AM

ohh and one more thing. Why 35 splines? 31's depending on gear ratios are good for 600+rwt. and they recomend to run the smallest axle that you need to save rotating weight. and let me know how you like the spool. i HATE mine so far.
