bent pushrod, broken lifter = heads coming off

made a little boo-boo at the track and over revved the motor, has a nice tick to it now, cylinder 5 intake pushrod was slightly bent, replaced it and misfire gone but tick still there. so looks like heads are coming off for lifters and some upgraded valve train parts. found a low mileage pair of 853s for cheap and thinkin about doing a real small aftermarket cam or rons old ls6 cam.
its always somethin!!:max:

Ahh....Ok I figured this is what happened. I did this once in my car, luckily I was able to throw the clutch back in in-time haha

I see. I was gonna say just revving to 6200 shouldn't have done that.

mechanical over rev as FAR worse then a high rpm on the limiter. sucks!! ive done 3-2 a couple times. locked up the rears and backfired a couple times..... so far so good.

damn flimsy stock valve springs. pac1218s, chromemoly pushrods, ls7 lifters and she should be good. almost 119k on her now time for a freshin up.
