Well a couple people asked me to post the story, it was epic...
so here it goes.

Well one saturday night/sunday morning (2AM)
i was driving home from being out with some friends with my fiance
i ran out of gas about 1/4 away from my house. so i pulled the car to the
side of the road and put my hazards on.
I Called my friend with whom i was just with and told him that i ran out of fuel, the only open gas station was about 2 miles away, so walking wouldnt be a wise idea.

So he came and we went to my house first to pick up a gas can and head over to the gas station, my car was on a pretty long straight away so from about a mile you could see the car. i noticed alot of activity around my car, meaning headlights and tail lights, so at first i thought someone was breaking into it because my aplifier was exposed in the back window, so we sped up, before getting there i told my buddy to slow down cuz it could be cops, so when we got closer i noticed what had happened, i was Enraged!!! as soon as i got out of the car i heard the lady say to a cab drive that witnessed the whole accident "Please take me home ill give u $100 bucks." So that pissed me off even more! So i screamed and swore and all kinds of stuff, ive had the car since i was 16 so i was pretty upset. Anyway to make a long story short, i ended up getting $4891 from the insurance for my 95Z which had about 160K On the body, but i put alot into the motor, and i had a ton of receipts but they didnt honor anything, the best they could do was what they gave me, since i paid nothing for the car, i took it and proceeded to look for a new 98+ SS!

So i narrowed it down to 3, one of them was a 2001 Black on Black SS with every SLP Option including the CME, i definately wanted a 6 speed, i cant take an automatic sports car. Anyway but this guy wanted 11K which was too much for me, i talked him down to 9K but i couldnt get the cash in time.

Second one was a 2000 White SS with 74K for 7K but it had a Tan Leather interior and i hate Tan. So that was a Nogo

Third was a 99 Red SS with 130K on it with Black ZR1 Wheels...(The guy painted them because they were a bit scuffed up. He was asking 8000 For it.
So i gave him a call, the car was in Cranston RI.
When i called the guy it was kinda weird, he was asking me technical questions about the car, in order to see if i really knew about them, or if i was just buying it cuz it looked purty...he was a very selective seller, and i didnt understand why? most people that sell a car just want the cash.

So anyway i asked him if i could come down and see it and give it a test drive, so i did, at this point i didnt have the money yet, but the check was on its way from the insurance. so i tried to negotiate, lowest i got em down too was 7K but it didnt really seem like he cared for the money, As i was leaving the night i had test driven it, some other guy showed up with a young kid. i thought he was gonna buy it so i got a little nervous, about 30 mins later the guy called me and was like "Dont worry hes not gonna get the car, i talked to that guy over the phone and he wanted the car, but i thought he was getting it for himself and i thought he was an older enthusiast, but hes just trying to buy it for his 16yr old kid, Which i will definately not give it to, the kid will beat the shit out of it and wipe it off the face of the planet" so i was like awesome, but when i hung up with him i was like "Why does he care who buys the car?"

Anyway Thursday came around and i called to make sure our appointment was still on and he had said yes com on down. So i drove down there, when i got there he was arguing with the guy from last time, and the kid was a spoiled little rich kid saying "Dad make him sell us the car!" so the dude selling the car was like "Get off my property im not selling u the car, Heres the guy buying it now" and he pointed to me. The other guy was like ill give you What ur asking for it, No! Ill give you 9K! No! Fuck it ill give u 12K Cash right now! NO! GET OFF MY PROPERTY!, I couldnt beleive it, there was definately something behind this!. So the guy gets off his property and starts yelling saying this is bull shit and blah blah blah, So the guy selling says "Ok ill make this fair!, ill ask each of u a question about the car, if you can get it right its urs!, So he points to the guy and says "What size motor is in this car?" the other dude says "Thats easy! its a Small Block Chevy, its a 350!" then he points to me and says, What do u think? i said "Hehe, its an LS1 Gen3 engine, Its a 346!" he says "YOU GOT IT!" so the other dude starts yelling again and again!

So we go inside and i ask the guy, why wouldnt u take his offer for 12k? whats so special about the car? and why would u sell it to me?

(This made me wanna cry)

He said "The car was my sons, he died in iraq 9 months ago, i loved my boy, all we did was spend time together and work on our cars, (he had a 69SS) we took such good care of them, on friday nights my son wouldnt go out with his friends, he would go out with me, we would goto bars and meets together and talk about our cars and what were doin to them next, Everyday i walk to my car through the garage and i take a look at the car and i start crying, i loved my boy with every part of my soul, and now i lost him, i cant bare to look at the car anymore, his sweat is all over that car, i can smell him everytime i go near it and i just cant take it anymore, his soul is in there, and i want the car to go to someone that will love it and take care of it, if that car dies, ill feel that my sons soul is gone with it.my son would've liked you, and seeing that u had a 95Z and you loved it since u were 16, i know ull take care of this car." so i felt horrible because all i had in my pocket was $4891, so i look at him and say listen, i dont have 12k, or even 7k for that matter, and as i was about to tell him that ill give him the money i had and ill pay him weekly for the car till i have 7k paid off he looks at me and says. "what do u have in ur pocket?" i said Forty Eight ninety one.......he says "Its yours, take it, but on one condition." i said "sure anything!" he says "I want a picture of the car every month for a year, if you treat it like shit, im gonna have u sign this paper here and im going to give u ur money back and im going to take it back.....deal?" i said "Absolutely!" because i knew i would love the car and take the best care of it.

So i sent him a pic every month up until now, he just saw the rims last week and he started to cry when i talked to him on the phone, he really loved his son and he really wanted the car to go somewhere where someone will love it just as much as his boy did.

so there it is, i paid 4891 for a car that booked about 12K at the time
