I've updated the title of the thread and I'm going to put some pics from all the places I visited while on vacation last week in here.

The stops were:

Washington DC, around the National Mall and a few of the Smithsonian museums.

Pics of the National Mall and surrounding areas, some of the monuments, the Capitol building, the White House, the Supreme Court, etc

Pics from the Natural History Museum and a couple from the American History Museum

Chantilly, VA, to the Air and Space museum annex building, where they keep everything they don't have room for in DC.

Shenandoah National Park, VA, driving the Skyline Drive along the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some amazing views, and wildlife that are happy to pose for pictures.

Gettysburg, PA, Gettysburg National Military Park, site of one of the pivotal battles of the Civil War. You can appreciate the pictures more when you know the stories behind them. If you go I highly recommend the self guided auto tour, it takes you through the battle in chronological order, fascinating stuff. One thing to note is the barn with a hole in the brick wall from Confederate artillery.
