Wanted - Weakened 4th gen (98-02) Hood struts

Anybody got a used set of hood struts they want to get rid of here? The stock struts that came with the car when I bought it are a bit too strong for the fiberglass hood. I don't want to have to deal with stress cracks, etc with this hood, simply because I like it lol. Just need a set of weakened struts that I can toss on it with the strut stopper that I have. Tired of using the piece of Brazilian cherry to prop the hood up lol. Shoot me a pm or whatever if you have some laying around and what ya want for em.

Lol thanks man. Loved reading through the drama lol. Just trying to do it on the cheap. Have heard good things about the vfn struts and might have to go that route if I can't find any at a local salvage yard. Figured I would give the forum a shot before putting any coin in somebody else's pocket.

Freetown, Raging Bull in Tiverton RI, Arnolds in Little Compton RI, and just about any other one that we'd just happen to come across out riding around in the country or heard about from somebody that knew somebody that had been to this one that had this or that type of car or truck.

They are caddy trunk lid struts. Do a search. For $10-$15 each you have no problem blowing gas to go to junk yards.
