Thought I'd start the age old debate about what tires are best for all around driving while still maintaining performance aspects. In other words, will work in rain, snow, and won't take away from your responsiveness and all that good shtuff

DRs are awesome but defintely not for snow, or even dry pavement if it's below freezing out.
All season tires will always be a compromise. If you are really after performance and want to drive the car year round your best bet is to run winter tires in the winter and performance tires Spring-Fall. For a V6 car drag radials are overkill (arguably even for a stock V8 car, although I luv 'em). Some of the more popular performance tires are BF Goodrich KDWs and Nitto 555 Extremes. I run the Nitto 555s on the front, pretty good but could stand to be a little softer for aggresive cornering. Good in the rain too. I think you can get an all season KDW too. |

I was very impressed with the Nitto DRs(the tread didnt last me long lol but i had em on for about a yr and a half daily driving..winter and all) they last as long as u dont get burnout happy like i did haha(damn line lock)lol...but im even happier with the reg 555s...they are good in the rain and cold weather and they are still soft enough where i know they will stick in the warm weather too. I was also happy with the BFG KDWs i had on previous to the Nittos. They lasted me 3 years and i was impressed with them in the snow and rain. My first set of tires i got when i bought the car in 03 were the Toyo proxes and i was extremely dissapointed. They were horrible in the rain. Even a slight sprinkle and the car was all over the place..Ive heard people love em tho so its a possibility they have changed with time. But my 2 top picks are the Nittos and BFGs |

It's not about whether they hook, the tread compound used to make DRs is not supposed to be exposed to sub feezing temps, it can crack and fail.

I like my gforce sport T/A's but they suck in the snow. I think you would be better off getting a set of salid shooters or some thing for snows and some thing nice for the summer
