longest 4 days yet

Well ever since it came down on us to do this mission its been nothing but headaches. We had to scrub the mission that we were already 3/4 done with. So we had to unload all of our trailors, find the new pieces, load them, and then head back to our base. After waiting for a week and a half to bring the shit to where it was going we got turned around twice cause of retarded reasons. Friday we finally set out to get to where we were going. Now as most of u know over here there really isnt what you would call "roads" here. So it usually take 6-7 hours to get there. 4 hours into the convoy we get put to a all stop. Thinking it was just a code yellow break (piss break). Nope! the guys clearing the road in front of us gets hit with a ied. No big deal its what theyre job is lol. So after 3 hours of waiting for them to clear the scence we roll out again. NOT! 2 seconds later they get hit with another. So we had to wait in the same spot for another 5 hours so they could get another unit out there to recover them since they had to many downed trucks. Well after sittin in the same spot for 8 hours waiting on them. Eating threw most of what we brought for the trip we get moving. Thinking nothin else could go wrong well it did. 6 miles down the road i lost all oil pressure, RPMs and got a huge vibration. U guessed it. Blew the engine in my Hemtt. Detriot Desiel 2 stroke blew 2 rods and shot them out both sides of the block. At this point im dead tired, piss off and just fed up. Get the chains out so we could pull it to where another wrecker could hook up and we could Charlie Mike the fuck out of there. Got the chains out started feeding them threw the shackles and bam! the 5/8ths chain slips out of my hand and crushes the shackle into my other hand that was against the body. Medic looks at it and tells me its broken. WTF seriously! We get to the spot were we were gonna get picked up and the wrecker tells us that we have to tow it to base which is a good 40 miles away. FUCK! Hook the tow bar up and we get on our way. I spend another 8 hours staring at brake lights so i dont run over the gun truck that is towing me. So what was suppose to b a 6-7 hr trip turns into a 22 hr gaggle fuck. Thats just the trip there! The next 2 days i spent with the unit were attached to ripping out the blown motor and puttin the new engine in. What a bitch but hey i got my wrecker back. So monday we SP on time and get moving. 30 mins into it we get stopped again. Just thinking to myself "o no not again!" We were haulted for 3 hours waiting for EOD to come out and blow a IED in place. Shit was almost straight out of the movie The Hurt Locker. That gets all said and done and we roll out. Now at the last minute we got told we were taking a differnt route back. This way it takes us a good 10 hrs to get home. Whatever no biggy most of it is hard ball so we should move at a good speed. Get a message that we have to go help out a polish unit with a downed APC. Thinking how the hell am i gonna hook up to this thing and tow it. Well after gettin lost and driving threw taliban country it seemed we found them. Its not a APC... its more like a striker on wheels. This thing is fucking huge! Im looking at it in the blast hole like how the fuck am i gonna get this done? Well after we hooked up the chains to try to pull it out of the hole and those breaking i get out of my truck and jump to the ground. Well more like fall the ground in pain. I rolled my ankle and heard 2 pops. hobble to my feet cuz i know that the guy im with has no idea how work the truck. Not hard but just knowing what things do what is enough to confuse some people. End up pulling it over a wall with the wench and hooked up to it. Had to get pulled by the other striker looking thing that wasnt blown up to get out of the field i was in. Get it back to the compound were they were at and finally im thinking we can get home. On the way home i ended up hitting a dog that ran into the road were i couldnt stop or move out of its way since we were moving at a good clip. lol seriously a dog? lol. after all said and done took 18 hrs to get back here. What a long 4 days that i hope i never have to go threw again. Thats my rant. If u look at my FB pics ull c the pic where im hooked up to the tank looking thing. And the hole i put in the block.
