For poly motor mounts you gotta get poly inserts and take apart the factory mounts and install them in and put em back together. Advanced has energy suspension inserts you can buy and swap them in. Big job tho I'm doing it this winter taking the headers out all over again to put them in. Fail on my part for not doing it right the first time.

Nooo leave the trans mount rubber it probably rips from getting soaked in the oil from your most likely intake mani leak. But yeah, def do headers/ y pipe/ and motor mounts all in 1 project. Otherwise you'll end up like me kicking yourself in the ass 4 months later having to pull all the shit back out again..

Put a poly trans and leave the motor mounts alone. The trans makes enough noise the poly motor mounts will be noisey as all hell

I've seen instances where the poly mount could damage the transmission case from everything moving and the tailshaft being held too stiff in place cracks... Only reason why I see sense in poly motor mounts is because they don't vibe or make as much noise as solid mounts and they keep the motor nice and stiff at the proper drivetrain angle in height, so there is no sag like the rubber ones do resulting in your y pipe not slapping the shit out of your floor when the motor is under torque and twists and makes the y pipe hit. This is why I wish I did poly motor mounts when I did the headers because everything looked like it cleared good but I didn't take into account that the motor twists a lot more with worn out rubber mounts in there.
So in conclusion I'd say get poly inserts like I'm gonna do, drill out the rivets holding the metal mount brackets together and put the poly ones in before you bolt in your headers and y pipe so you don't end up like me with banging pipes making my knock sensor go crazy. >.< Then do what I did get a cheap 10 dollar rubber tranny mount and use some 3M window adhesive and fill up the hole in the rubber with it, after that I never broke one again and its still rubber so no worrying about breaking stuff Its the hole thru the rubber that weakens them and makes them tear combined with oil soakage

Yeah dude because you buy the cheap rubber ones with the holes they're just gonna keep breaking get a torque arm relocation kit and like I said fill a new mount with 3M window adhesive your problems will go away never break one again and you wont have to worry about your trans case cracking from putting in a poly trans mount. How to tell if its leaking the whole back of the motor and trans will be all oily lol you can definitely tell it leaks at the back so usually the front and top of the trans is all nasty. I haven't done mine yet waiting for next week to take the car off the road but pull it all off take off the manifold and pizza recommended me to use this stuff by Permatex "The Right Stuff" just use that goop and bolt it back on. Used it on my S^TURN and my 86 chevy pickup works great no more leaks. woooohhooooooo!
