If you find a tire that is good at performance in the summer and goes in the snow call the tire companies because you will be rich. You are best off with a dedicated set of each or suffer with no seasons. A goof performance summer tire will likely be brittle in the winter and a good performance winter tire will burn up in warm weather. You drive something like a DR in the winter you are taking your life in your own hands, my 555R's never had an issue although I did very little low temp driving, but I know of several that have chunked and one that even came completely apart. Having said that my 2 choices

Summer/Rain
Nitto NT-05

Winter/Snow
Dunlop Wintersport M3's

Honestly mine were on the car in the winter, parked in the driveway stuck in 2" of ice and they are still going strong. I keep them indoors now though.
