Hot air is exiting the fans on the BACK of the radiator, not the front. so it gets cold air all the time as the filter element is BEFORE the radiator in the path of air.

Cold air---->airfilter------> rad------>hot air

I might entertain heat soak from the lid being on top of the rad support and the lid getting hot and thus making the air hot but there is no way its sucking in "hot air".

I used 4 or 5 light coats, vs the heavier coats like the can says to use.

Honestly if it were simple I'd probably swap to an LS1 style intake just for ease of access. Beats jacking up the car and pulling the skid plate just to get at the damn air filter. And you could run a paper filter. But I think the Moroso or a comparable CAI flows plenty for a mildly modded LT1.

I think pizza is saying the hot air during idle and not moving. I've seen inlet temps hit 150+ in traffic on LS cars with the bottom cut out.

Default Compression Test

Well all cylinders were with in 205-210psi

should I repeat the test now and add some oil to cylinders to make sure my compression tester is accurate?

Pictures of plugs

Seems like alot of carbon buildup, guessing from the oil it burns. I'm stull having oil blown out of the dipstick ect, if the compression test is right I should have really solid motor for 180k, so how is my engine getting the crankcase pressurized?

Don't know if you're on facebook at all but my friend has a 70k LT1 for sale for decent money. Billy Fowler is his name(if the post doesn't redirect you to the thread.)
