Fuel system for lsx turbo swap
Ok, decided to ditch my old fuel cell/aeromotive pump setup on my 68 in favor of a factory style tank with in tank pump/pumps.
I want my trunk back so I have somewhere to put stuff when going places with the family. Anyhow, done some looking and I think I've settled on a 94-96 caprice gas tank. People have swapped them in with what appears to be good results. This will not only get me a 23 gallon capacity it will also give me a tank with a modern style in tank efi pump/pick up assbly. It will also be about a tenth of the price of any of the aftermarket bolt in tanks for my car so there's another bonus. Anyhow, I'm shooting for around 600rwhp with a turbo on my lq4. I'd like to keep an in tank pump set up. I'm thinking twin walboro 255's? What about a single walboro 340? Or, are there other better/more cost effective options out there? And, if I do run dual pumps is it really worth running the second pump on a Hobbs switch or just run them both all the time? Also, what should I do for lines? I had -10 pushlock hose for a feed but I think I want to clean that up and run hard line front to back and only have a couple flex sections where needed. I see most only go to -8. Which should I go with? Also, at what point do you NEED to upgrade the fuel rails? I'm plannig on 60lb injectors but if stock rails will be ok I'd just as soon keep them. If not then I'll go shopping. Been searching around for a couple hours but I keep getting mixed results. I'm on a tight budget with everything I have planned this year so I don't want to spend more then necessary but don't want to do it half assed either. Any input?

340 intank with Kennebell boost a pump. That would keep the factory fuel pump. Dual pumps require cutting the bucket open which isn't fun on a flat bottom tank.
-8 feed line with -6 return. Fuel rails are better than the stock one because the stock one could starve cyl 2+8. Or 3/8 hard lines will work. Pretty simple really. |

So the single 340 will be enough to feed approx 600 rwhp then. At what point does the 340 lph pump max out?
Didn't even think about the boost a pump but yeah I'd rather not cut the bucket apart since I'm building the car to corner and don't want to deal with fuel starvation when I'm out using it. And I'm liking 3/8 hard line with something flexible to connect to the tank and to attach to the rails. Just wasn't sure if 3/8 would be large enough. I trust your opinion there though.
