A fix will co$t to have it done right. Sometimes it's better to move on.

True, but
A. The car has sentimental value.
B. This isn't a Toyota Camry. Someday these cars will be rare and desirable, and whoever owns it in 30 years will be glad it was spared from the crusher.

I know it has sentimental value, all of mine have in one way or another.
One of the big reasons they become desirable is they are no longer made and the numbers decrease due to the demise of a percentage. It happens. It sucks but it's the truth.

Insurance said there isnt enough damage to total it. They cut me a check for 7000 to fix it. So all questions there are answered. The adjuster took a long look at her and said that the rail that is bent really bad is a easily replaceable piece and since the weld seam spread anyway it shouldnt be a bad fix. He said it looks alot worse than it actually is. I asked what the amount difference would be to total it and he said the company would payout 8100 to total it minus my deductible but they wont total it because it can and as he put it should be fixed.

Keep in mind the body shop that does the work may come back and say "it needs this and this and this" and push it past the line, I've seen that happen before.
