Default Worth my money?

Ive seen the Hypertech chips they make for the LT1s, My question is: is it even worth me spending $240 for the chip? Is it really gonna make a difference?

Probably not. I have the programmer for 96-97 cars. As far as tuning all you can do is load the tune that comes with the programmer into your car. You can change stuff like tire size, gear ratio, and other little stuff but not much really. I don't know how the chips for '93 cars work but I would guess it's similar. The car feels a little bit more aggressive with the Hypertech tune (I also increased shift firmness for the auto) but it didn't run any faster at the track. I would wait until you do some real mods and then get either a mail order tune or a proper dyno tune.

dont waiste your money on ANY mail order hyperCrap or Jet chip. all they do is add timing and lower fan temps. Not worth 5 bux let alone 250. get a Pro tune. or save up some cash and do a PCM upgrade. i had the stock pcm pro tuned by %*& and it was right on wide open car ran good. i then upgraded to an LS1 pcm gained 15+rwhp(cant really get a fixed gain as i added a 9" at the same time) and the car ran a fukll second quicker in the quarter. NOT saying it was ALL tune or PCM related BUT the drivability that i thought was Great after the original tune. i was blown away by how much better the car runs now. Again save up and do it RIGHT.
