Alright, so I need a new clutch BAD! The clutches I'm lookin at is the ram powergrip clutch, or the spec stage 3 clutch, or does anyone have any other suggestions? I want this clutch to be able to hold a little over 400hp.

With 170k when do u plan on running enough hp to warrant those clutches if i were u i would get a lt4 clutch setup which will hold plenty and last awhile till u rebuild/build the motor. But that is my oppinion. Also fuck spec that is all

Im only running this motor for this season (hopefully) then Im having my other LT1 built for next season which im hoping to see around 400hp out of, so I figure I might as well buy a beefy clutch now, and yeah ive heard mixed things about the spec clutches. But ram is good? also what about monster clutches?

centerforce and McLeod are great but both expensive and just like 84Z said its really going to benefit you going big unless you are planning on a bigger build and with your mileage it should really be a full rebuild or swap

I nver had a ram but i like the monster so far also i still say get a cheap stock replacement or lt4 for now. Then a better one when u do the motor hate to eat up a stage 3 with little power then have to buy another later.

I am doing a full swap, I have a spare LT1, getting reconditioned, all brand new internals. Idk, I dont drive the car very often, its not my DD, i feel like if I buy a stocker im just waisting my time and money

Why spend big bucks on a clutch if you are changing the engine? I mean I would get a stocker now or a mild aftermarket and put a good one in with the new engine. It is silly to build a motor and re-use a clutch, just my $.02 worth. I'd go with a Monster stage 3 but I don't know if they make LTX clutches.

Yep just double checked, its for LS1. Well I'll find out what an OEM clutch will run me tomorrow at work. I get a really good discount on parts so itll probably be relatively cheap.
