i had GM 4.10's in the trans am for years. i guess its all in how you drive it. saving up and throwing a 9" in the car isnt Just buying it and installing it. aftermarket/adjustable torque arm is required to get the pinion angle correct. adjustable lower control arms and pan hard bar are needed to get the rear end back into stock/forward position. ans also a drive shaft a conversion ujoint Will break and then say good bye floor. just throwing it in there with stock suspension shit will be a waiste. i dont know what you have But start with the rear and work your way up. throw some 4.10's in it. as long as they're set up right you should be pretty safe as long as your not an animal with it. then start buying suspension stuff/supporting mods to go with the 9" install. i bought shit piece by piece as i could afford it. That what i recommend. If your looking for a faster feel to the car and a quicker time that will net you some ET and seat of the pants feel for sure.

I had planned on doing suspension mods next...mainly struts and springs to start, but with gears i can take all the power i have now and just roast the rear tires so thats OBVIOUSLY the logical choice lol

so define drive like an animal?

I broke my 10 bolt stock. I wouldn't spend a penny on a 10 bolt. Imho. It seems the lt1 rears were alittle stronger I dunno why
