It's been repaired and it's on the way back.

"I tried to run it as-delivered and it did barely idle down below 1500 but very poorly and wouldn't hold. I noted the trim screws were out something like 3 turns, so I removed them and back-flushed the idle circuits with a blast of carb cleaner followed with a hit from the air hose, reinstalled the trim screws and it ran like a champ.

I went ahead and pulled the bowls to check for debris but only found a small amount--nothing that threw up a red flag. I flushed out both metering blocks again and re- tested the carb on two separate days to try to make sure there wasn't an intermittent issue in hiding. Both times it ran great, so it's on the way back to you.

I don't know what specifically got into the carb, this is just one of those things that occasionally happens no matter how hard we try to prevent it. At least it's an easy & quick fix."
