im always amazed how much people hate lt1s the only problem that i see with them is the opti, unless im missing something. that generation of small block has been the king of engines sense 1955. i know they changed slightly threw the generations, and i know now that ls style engine is now the new king of engines but for us guys that grew up with the previous generation and made them work very well with parts that you probably wouldnt put them in your lawn mower but its a chevy and there is no better. just rating thats all. lol

i like the LT1s, the opti is an easy fix since the coil on plug 24x conversion is practically a neccessity anyway if your going to mod the car.

i don't hate lt1's, just think the ls based engines are far more superior and easier to work on. opti sparks and oil leaks are the major mechanical things i would say. i was tired of replacing them every year and half....plus it seems lt1 parts are really starting to go up since the only made them for 6 years...i just sold my lt1 from my 96 ss, just the long block with no accessories or harness 96k miles for 1000 and it leaked oil everywhere. i thinks kinda crazy but whatever.

Yep, axle shafts, and cams (I think) as well, always store them up-right.

not sure what they do for shipping, I would imagine alot of foam, and possibly some sort of wooden cradle to mimick how it would sit in a block? idk just guessing haha
