yeah the valve train damage is all from mechanical over rev on my part, my own dumb fault for racing on a bad clutch. the bearing damage id say is from age and lack of maintanence/abuse in its life time. ive only owned it a year and have basically redone the entire drivetrain. but yeah motor was tired for sure! i am sticking with stock internals but i did some little stuff to make it better, tri metal coated bearings, durabond coated cam bearings, arp rod bolts, c5r chain, powerbond balancer, ls7 lifters, manley pushrods, pac springs, ls6 oil pump. going to make sure my air intake is 100% sealed and filtering really good, possibly get a blackwing lid cause i dont like how the aftermarket slp fits.

trim the upper rad support behind the air box under the outlet of the lid. it will seal up with no issues!

hey im more than willing to try it!!! my drag radials have some life left but i will have to put them on after teching in so i dont get shit for em. i will have to make a few hard passes with both shafts to make it even comparison. i think the steel would have less impact with numerically lower gear ratios due to less driveshaft speed.

i can tell you seat of the pants theres a difference between a stock steel and stock aluminum. it may effect some setups more than others due to driveshaft speed.

damn what the hell is the rev limiter doing up there?! lol........i always try to put together valvetrain's with overhead just incase stuff like that happens...its nice to be able to still control your valve a few hundred rpm over yourr shift point just incase....when i had a shifting issue with mine it went 8600 in first gear and due to the overhead it didn't break anything......luckily lol
