Picked up another z28 with auto this time need help!!

hey everyone !! i recently picked up a 96 z28 auto with 90k , well it wont shift out of 2nd so no drive and overdrive i found a broken tps , replaced it no change. i dropped the tranny pan today emptied all fluid from pan and lines going to cooler and changed filter , gasket and both a and b shift solenoids . Now when driving only at wot it will shift from 2nd to drive somtimes? so what im asking is all of you with 4l60e can u give me any ideas on whats going on ? asr switch isnt working also? please ant input would be great !! thanks much appretiated.

Usually d and od are the first to go in these trans does it go in and just rev or not shift at all?

does it have 2nd gear start? could be that. or it's time to replace it.

Yea it pulls and shifts great in 1 and 2 then when it goes to drive it just free revs unless i go wot and let off the gas it will shift to third sometimes!! could it be the clutch pack 3/4

sounds like someone swapped the tranny out for a 1994 tranny? thats what they do. they wont shift. unless WOT and its only from pressures and not the computer telling it to do so. see if you can get to the plastic tag. the 2 letter code tells you the year and month.

With a 94 trans drive would be reverse and reverse would be drive. That's what happened when I tried it

hmmm i will check the tag in a couple mins , but i mean it pulls good in reverse shifts perfect in 1,2 and wont shift manually into drive or overdrive will shift only somtimes mashing it and letting off , so Irockid your saying that i should move the shift linkage ? just confused!! could i still be low on fluid? i mean i pulled the pan and refilled with 5 quarts but it was real low when i got the car the other day so coukld it just need more ?

Sounds like a toast 3-4, same thing the trans in my car did to the guy before when he had it rebuilt lol

ok so i put 2 more quarts in and just took this thing out on the high way went wot through all gears hesitated to shift into overdrive but slammed through 123 no problem but i did i reached about 120 real quick unsure if the vss isnt correct or what also when i came to a complete stop at the end of the highway fucking car just died . checked the alt no voltage seems to be gone , now would a bad alt with either low or really high volts mess the tranny functions up , because the shift solinoids are controlled by voltage?
