Or you can plan the trip around camp grounds so you don't have to get a room. And try to make the trek around our further away members. It wouldn't have to be a cruise for 5 days for everyone, but like a "tag along for a day while we're close" cruise. That way it will be about 5 days but no one will probably be on it for more than like 2. Unless they want to cuddle with tony.

Those are some good ideas too.

I'm curious how many people could see themselves doing this at some point. If we could get a group of at least five people (including myself) then I think we should go for it. A small group like that might actually be better for a long cruise like this, although of course anyone who wanted to come would be welcome.

Here's a map of the road trip I took in June of 2010. It starts in Scranton, PA. That's about 4 hours from me so about 6 hours for eastern MA people. The spots I have marked on the map are:

A: Scranton
B: Pine Creek Gorge AKA Pennsylvania Grand Canyon
C: Kane, PA (probable first night stop)
D: Nice overlook of a big reservoir (could makes some other stops in the Allegheny National Forest that day too)
E: Bath, NY (that's where I stayed the next night, may or may not use that exact town though)
F: Watkins Glen State Park (awesome place, stream running through a gorge with lots of waterfalls)
G: Taughannock Falls (big waterfall, very cool)
H: Ithica, NY (another layover point before the trip home)
