I like it, and that AWD should come in handy today.

Performance Winter Tire Testing I've run the Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds for years (but the 4D is out now) Looks like the Michelin PA4 or the Perelli SottoZero 3 provide a little better snow traction than the Dunlops now though From personal use though - I can tell you it's awesome to not have to give up much on handing while only being forced to drive just a tiny bit more carefully in the white stuff (vs a standard snow) Performance snows an an AWD Car are pretty much unstoppable - I've driven my Subaru though 8+" parking lots without issue - car goes up my 30 Deg Driveway in 6+" wihout issue (note ~8 it will slide around)... ![]() ![]() Ohh - And congrats to Dave on the new DD - That was on the list for our new car - but the Wife doesn't like the look?

Right now it has all season radials. My initial plan was to leave them on and run the Silverado (it has snow tires on it) when the weather is really rough.
I'll see how it goes, especially today since I brought the car to work. I might have to put snow tires on it.

Classy!
I can relate to driving a soulless car. I drove a '97 Ford Escort wagon for seven years! Seven! |

"Soulless car"......I never heard that phrase before but that's a GREAT way to put it.
I beat you by one year with the Outlander and that car definitely had no soul. The CTS ran great in about 4" of snow today. Stopping wasn't the greatest though. I totally skidded past a stop and left turn I tried to make but I'm thinking that snow tires might not have helped stopping that much.

Winter tires will make a huge difference in stopping and steering. I almost think they're more important on a 4WD/AWD vehicle because the extra traction creates a false sense of security.

Did you try doing donuts in it?

I think your're right. I was listening to the tunes with no cares in the world and then locked them up before trying to stop and take a left turn.
