Default 358ci of fury?

Just wanted to post about a motor I've been working on at school. Been having a lot of fun playing with it so far. Its a 358ci SBC 10:1 CR, custom grind cam, Crower solid roller lifters, comp cams pushrods, and Jesel shaft rockers. We're using a older set of Pro Action 200cc heads. Originally we had a mechanical injection setup using Methanol on it that we acquired and were using a magneto to fire it. Something just wasnt right, after numerous pulls, misfiring etc. We gave up with the best showing of 475hp.

I had the bright idea t then swap a single plane Victor Jr. on it (wish we had a super victor) and use the 950hp we have. So after swapping everything, checking valve lash and cleaning out the motor from the Methanol mess it's read to go. Should be doing initial pulls on it tomorrow. Gonna test the crank water pump we have VS. a CSR electric pump, then I'll be taking the manifold back off and porting it out to a 1206 to match the heads and clean up the rest of the manifold.

Heres a few pics:

I figured the electric pump would, I'm curious by how much though?

I would like to do a header test as well but I dont think we have anything bigger and those only look 1 5/8" to me?

I like the school. Learned a lot since I've started. I got a junk 305 head to flow over 200cfm and am currently blowing out the valve seat for a 1.94 valve.. Need to rework the bowl now too but its all in good fun. We ground it for a 30*/45*/60* valve angles.

those headers look to be 1 3/4" from the picture. tough to tell. is the outlet 3" usually 1 5/8" headers are 2.5"

Not sure but everyone says they look too small even without measuring and theres a big gap between the middle pipes and on my Hookers theyre almost hugging.

Well after a conservative tune up, 34* timing, and not even playing with the 750HP carb(only one we could use) and a 2" spacer.. it made 496hp @ 6500 rpm and 462 ft/lbs of TQ at 5000 rpm. It mirrors the pulls very good, one after the other it put the same #'s down. We feel it has more to gain with manifold porting(already started) and a bigger carb. Hoping for 525 with the manifold though!
