it's a common problem even if the clutch is fine it could just be the fluid or the master.
it's going in to get looked at and check on the clutch itself 1st, and if it needs one then he'll get it all done.

If it's going to be far enough apart to check the clutch just put a new one in it.
Do it now or a few months from now when he starts beating on it and it lets go anyway.
