That is the site I'm getting the bulbs and ballasts from. I was just trying to decide where to get the housings: eBay or Racing Lab.
Incidentally, what's the difference between that kit and the one Mark posted earlier from DDM? http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W ^ Those are $10 more. |

Thinner ballasts. I have those in my car...they used to be $30. The thicker ones are supposedly more durable but who knows.

I found something else on eBay that looked interesting:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_4689wt_975 It's a complete kit, housings, bulbs, ballasts and harnesses, for ~ $100. And it says they are projector housings, which should mean they will spread the light correctly. The only thing I'm wondering is, do these have proper high/low beam function? It says H4 hi/low bulbs, but I want to know that both will work properly. |

No idea on that one. I would think that it would be effective but I've never seen projector high beams

I just bought a cheap hid 9006 kid off ebay and glued the bulbs with silicone into the stock housings after prying out the old bulbs no leaks and if you gotta change bulbs its not too challenging to heat em up and pull em out I would imagine. But I have stock headlights in now because hid were not meant to be in a sealed beam housing and I don't feel like getting hit head on at night by a blinded driver because I have stadium lights. and using 35w hid's is fail because they are almost dimmer than halogens they just have a different color 55w ftw but in sealed beams for the loss.

![]() I now have H4 conversion headlight housings in my car, so I'm back to looking at HID kits. They come in 35W and 55W, are the 35W kits really weak? I'd rather run that one because I'm concerned about whether the 55W bulbs might get hot enough to damage the housing (just an eBay special after all) but if the 35Ws are not significantly brighter than stock halogens than I'll try the 55W. |
