How are the 3rd gen brake calipers? I know with LS1 brakes most people think they suck, when all they need to do is a little maintenance to the brake system and toss in some pads that have good street/performance stopping power.

A c5 kit is affordable compared to other big brake kits. Though even that is overkill unless you just want it for the looks. Plus, you will only stop as quick as your tires will let you. If you're on like some 300+ treadwear summer tire.. the c5 kit probably won't stop you any better than stock brakes in good condition. If you can lock up the tires as is, all you'll do is lock them up earlier with better brakes.
