yes and I dont like the feel or look or the jam nut so I use spacers and bottom it out then blue lock tight

I got my dad a pistol grip that had the fbody threads in it and it bottomed out and was in th perfect spot.

All the Hurst handle I've had come with different thickness spacers & the jam locknut.
The MBA knob I had just had spacers, but aligned perfectly & didn't need them. Other types of shift knobs use a small allen set screw to lock it in place.

When my 84 was an auto I had one of these installed. I always prefered it to be moved just a bit from 90 degrees horizontal..... Kind of like 10 & 4 rather than 9 & 3. It was a bit uncomfortable when it was "sqaured" horizontally - but felt pretty good when turned just slightly to the right.
I couldn't image what it must feel like to shift when the T handle is mounted vertically like that ! Mine was a Mega-shifter that had a Locking nut installed on the shifter lever before the T-Handle,... then adjust the handle to preferance and turn the locking nut until it was tight.
