Not true, sounds and drives like stock. Slight bump but many wouldn't recognize it's cam'ed. Again I'm not comparing stock with stock. Simply saying a stock base model Vette can match or beat a ZR1 for third or even a quarter the cost. Love the car, overpriced for what it offers over it's base model brother.

Also the zr1 is far superior for handling and brakes. lets see how much a full zr1 brake and suspension package costs on top of the motor mods. Can u do it for less the answer is yes. Can it last as long or drive as nice nope. Best bet would be buy the 30k vette and sink 40-50k for all the zr1 parts and lose alot on resale value cause the zr1 will go up in value.

What I have 229/236 .624/.625 114+2 is even bigger.

Good read below.....

I agree, the ZR1 will not be 4 times faster in the twisties even though it's four times the cost. All kidding aside. The ZR1 will shine when the road turns. IMHO, the ZR1 will not go up in value, it is not a limited production like the GT. It's more like the Viper, as in a high production, high performance top tier sports car.

lol how many times has someone made this argument before. Hell a stock LS1 (would be the ZR1) would get destroyed against a Turboed 3.8 4th gen (c6 vette). Cost less and faster. Everyone knows that. But you wanna compair stock for stock the more expensive once 9 outta 10 will come out on top. Any other prehistoric arguments you wanna bring up and beat to death?

Just making a point of saying the bottom of the line and the top of the line Vette look way too closely related to have such a large price gap. I know I'm dating myself but just as when Elton John rewrote "candle in the wind" for Princess Diana, it deserved a clean sheet of paper. So did the ZR1. Ford top performer, GT does not have a tamer little twin brother, nor does the Acura NSX, Lexus LFA, Audi R10, Dodge has the Viper, Lamborghini has the Marcelargo, Ferrari has the F40/F50 and the Enzo, even Porsche has the Carara GT. I could give more examples. Comparing an LS1 with a C6 is not Apples to Apples the body styles are different and both engines were not in production at the same time. The ZR1 should have been something very different than anything else in the line up with a very limited production to help keep the values high. One of the posters on this thread said he knows a dealership with 6 of them, not a way to drive demand, pumping them out as fast as they can be made. I am far from a Ford guy and I do not overly like it's styling but the GT was a perfect way to pull off a limited production domestic supercar.

Now I'm off to go walk my Brontosaurus.
