Default Need suggestions

Well someone I know is selling a 1990 nissan z32 (300zx) Twin turbo 5 spd. The body has 180k on it but the motor has been swapped for a JDM motor with app 40-50k on it. The car Does not run properly at the moment, it starts up and then dies, it will stay running if you keep your foot on the gas. The car itself is in great shape, really clean underneath and it was making about 14 pounds of boost which should put it in the 330 wheel range.

heres the ad: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/3122673972.html

I really want this car (dont worry keeping the camaro too) but i dont want this problem to turn out to be something huge. Idk if anyone on here knows anything about these cars but any advice would be great. He has checked his vacuum lines, IC piping, replaced upper plenum gasket and thats it. still doesnt run right.

I dont think im gonna go through with it, been spending time on 300zx forums, and from what people said, I could very well end up spending 5k in completely unrelated shit besides the already stated problem. These motors are apparently not reliable whatsoever, and very needy with scheduled maintenance. And the fact that its a JDM motor means that the motor could be a lemon with way more miles than stated in the add.
