Default question about 4th gen parking ligts

2002 formula. When the vehicle is on, the front parking lights are on at all times. these are the two yellow lights down the bottom of the front nose next to the fog lights. They are the front ones that double as directional. The bulbs are dual element. My question is, shouldn't they come on when the headlight switch is turned to parking lights? or is this a 4th gen thing? or are my bulbs in backwards? or am I just a twat waffle? I tried a search with no avail. FYI my headlight gears have been replaced and it is not related to that.

thanks.

I think you are referring to the daytime running lights. The blinker filaments are lit when the car is running and the lights are off. When you set the lights to parking lights or headlights they will be off. You can disable them if you want so you don't burn out bulbs and melt sockets.

Anyone know if I can just use a jumper from wire a to wire b without opening up the DRL module? I don't think I got the skills to solder the circuit board.

Jumping it without out disconecting it internally won't eliminate the problem. Would need to cut and connect the wires bypassing the drl module. Behind the radio there is limited room but it can be done.
